Mostafa is an Algerian engineer and researcher working at the crossroads of AI, cybersecurity, and social impact. He uses technology to solve real problems for communities and organizations. His interest in disarmament is deeply tied to Algeria’s own experience with nuclear testing, motivating him to advocate for ethical tech and peaceful innovation across Africa. At YLF, he aims to learn, collaborate, and contribute youth-driven solutions to a safer world.
Ana is a Brazilian currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She works as a research assistant for the OCTData Project, an initiative dedicated to creating the first comprehensive database on Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) in South America. She also serves as an intern at a leading political research firm that uses data and analytical insights to inform public debate and support strategic decision-making. Her main strengths and interests include research, international security, analytical work, data handling, and academic writing.
Anthropologist, biologist and Master’s in Social and Political Studies, with training in Peacebuilding from the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. For over 5 years, have work with communities and territories affected by armed conflict in Colombia in areas such as health, education and climate change, promoting a more peaceful, inclusive and sustainable world.
Om is a theoretical physics student from Nepal. He is affiliated with Xavier International College and the Nepal Research and Collaboration Center (NRCC), where he explores how science, ethics, and memory can work together to serve humanity. In Desert of Silence, Om guided the research direction that shaped the conceptual and ethical foundation of the work. His focus was on connecting historical memory with scientific responsibility, ensuring that the story remains thoughtful, accurate, and rooted in human dignity.
Freja is a Media and Communication Studies graduate, born in Kuwait, raised in Turkey, and currently based in Egypt. She is cultivating a career in journalism and journalistic production, with a commitment to creating ethical, accessible media. Her work focuses on elevating the narratives of women, girls, and children across the Middle East through arts, culture, and community-driven storytelling. Dedicated to informed and responsible communication, Freja seeks to use narrative as a catalyst for empowerment, understanding, and meaningful social impact—contributing to global efforts toward peace, equity, and disarmament. She is dedicated to listening, learning, and serving as a vessel for important stories to reach wider audiences with integrity, accuracy, and care.
Sahasra is a Georgia State University student pursuing finance, economics, and art, with a focus on peace, security, and economic justice. Originally from India and raised across Europe and Asia, she now leads youth-centered advocacy in Atlanta. She founded and presides over Students for Nuclear Disarmament at GSU, working with Back from the Brink to advance nuclear-abolition policy through student mobilization and legislative outreach. As Co-Chair of WILPF Metro-Atlanta, she promotes women-led peace and justice efforts, while her work with the PEAC Institute supports UN-aligned projects on financial literacy, ethical investing, women’s healthcare, and social equity. Combining global experience with a commitment to inclusive futures, she integrates analysis, art, and activism to build a more peaceful world.
